Celebrating three decades with the Cats
2026 marks our 32nd season as proud sponsor of Kilkenny GAA
We have officially kicked off our 32nd season supporting Kilkenny GAA, marking one of the longest-running partnerships in the Association.
The Avonmore name first appeared on the iconic black and amber jersey in 1994, with Tirlán Co‑operative added in 2024 – together forming a partnership that’s instantly recognisable across the GAA world.
Speaking at the launch in UPMC Nowlan Park on Tuesday 03 February, PJ Kenny, Kilkenny GAA Chairman, said the continued backing of Tirlán remains hugely important as Derek Lyng and his squad progress through the 2026 season.
“We are delighted to continue our long-standing partnership with Tirlán, an organisation that makes an enormous contribution to communities across the South-East.
“This support has been a constant for Kilkenny GAA for more than three decades and it means a great deal to our players, management and supporters as the season builds through the League and into the Championship.”

Derek Lyng, Kilkenny Senior Hurling Manager, welcomed the continuation of the sponsorship and acknowledged its significance to the group. “The support of Tirlán and the Avonmore brand has been part of Kilkenny hurling for generations. Our players are very aware of the tradition behind that jersey and we’re proud to represent an organisation that shares our values of hard work, commitment and excellence.”
John Murphy, Tirlán Chairperson, said the relationship remains a source of pride for the farmer-owned Co op. “We’re immensely proud to continue our partnership with Kilkenny GAA. As a 100% farmer-owned Co-op, Tirlán has deep roots in communities across the South-East and Avonmore is Ireland’s leading dairy brand. Top athletes require the best of nutrition and our high quality dairy products are a perfect fit for top level sports.”
