Bringing our farmer-owned story to customers

International buyers got a first-hand look at the people, farms and expertise behind Tirlán’s dairy business during a recent Bord Bia Inward Buyer Visit

Over two days, Tirlán welcomed a group of international buyers to experience our dairy business first-hand, from the farm where our milk journey begins through to our processing operations in Virginia.

From farm…

A highlight of the visit was a trip to O’Reilly’s Farm on the Cavan-Meath border, where the group met Dan O’Reilly, a progressive young farmer who milks approximately 200 cows in partnership with his father, Bernard.

Dan gave the group an insight into Tirlán’s grass-based farming model and the work that goes into producing high-quality milk, including the continued focus on milk quality, animal welfare and sustainability.

Having recently received a Tirlán Milk Quality Award in 2026, Dan was also able to share his own experience of how innovation and continuous improvement on farm are helping to deliver quality milk for our customers.

…to our operations

On day two, the group travelled to Virginia for a factory tour, giving them an opportunity to see another important part of the journey and learn more about Tirlán’s processing capabilities and the production of our dairy ingredients and products.

Together, the two visits helped connect the full story, from our farmer suppliers and the care that goes into producing milk on farm, to the expertise across our operations that brings our products to customers.

Bringing the Tirlán story to life

Visits like this are an important opportunity to bring our farmer-owned story to life for customers.

They allow buyers to meet the people behind our products, see our standards in practice and better understand the quality, expertise and passion that exists right across Tirlán.

A sincere thank you to Dan and Bernard O’Reilly and to everyone across Tirlán who helped prepare for and host the visit and gave our guests such a warm welcome.
