Last month’s Great Pink Run with Glanbia was another outstanding success in this annual event, with over 8,359 people taking part virtually from 22 countries across the globe

270 Glanbia employees played their part in helping to turn the globe pink, running, walking and wheeling for breast cancer research in Ireland and the USA. With funds still being counted, this week the donation tally stands at an amazing €625,000!

These funds will greatly enhance research efforts both nationally and internationally into metastatic breast disease – a challenging area and one that requires continuous investment. Breast Cancer Ireland along with US charity Research a Cure are making inroads in the fight against the disease, with new clinical trial drugs being introduced and awareness of good breast health being raised.

Over the years, the support of Glanbia and its employees has greatly helped efforts to transform this disease from often being fatal to a treatable illness that can be maintained long-term.

There are already plans in the pipeline for a ‘hybrid’ event for 2022, where both physical events in Dublin and Kilkenny will be hosted along with a virtual offering, both nationally and globally.
