Tour de Tirlán 2026 reaches €100,000 fundraising target!
We’re delighted to share that Tour de Tirlán 2026 has officially reached its ambitious fundraising target of €100,000, raising vital funds for three very deserving charities: Aiséirí, Aware and the Fr. McGrath Centre.
This incredible achievement follows a fantastic day on Friday, 11th September, when more than 150 colleagues, farmer stakeholders, board and council members came together to take on a range of cycling and walking challenges in support of our chosen charity partners.
Participants tackled routes ranging from 45km to 190km cycles, while many others took part in our brand-new 10km Fun Walk. This year, Tour de Tirlán even went international, with colleagues in Shanghai joining the challenge and helping make it a truly global event.
The day was a huge success from start to finish. Thankfully, the weather once again played its part and all participants returned safely to Abbey Quarter where celebrations continued with a well-earned BBQ in the Smithwick’s Barrel Yard.
A special thank you goes to the many volunteers and members of the Tour de Tirlán Committee whose hard work, planning and commitment helped make the event such a success. Events like this simply would not be possible without their support.
Most importantly, thank you to everyone who donated, fundraised, volunteered, participated or cheered colleagues on from the sidelines. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, helped us reach this remarkable milestone. The €100,000 raised will be divided equally between Aiséirí, Aware and the Fr. McGrath Centre, helping each organisation continue its important work supporting individuals, families and communities across Ireland.
This year also marks another significant milestone in the history of Tour de Tirlán. Over the past 13 years, the event has now raised an incredible €666,000 for local and national charities, demonstrating the generosity, commitment and community spirit that exists across Tirlán.
A massive thank you to everyone who donated, fundraised, volunteered or took part in helping us reach this incredible milestone. While we have successfully achieved our ambitious €100,000 fundraising target, donations will remain open until the end of this week, giving everyone one last opportunity to support Aiséirí, Aware and the Fr. McGrath Centre. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference, and we look forward to announcing our final fundraising total once all donations have been received and counted.
