Coaching at Tirlán: Better Conversations, Stronger Connections
This October, we’re putting the spotlight on coaching with our Coaching Refresh Weeks, an opportunity to reconnect with the coaching culture we’ve been building across Tirlán and look at how we can continue to strengthen it.
Over the past number of years, Tirlán has invested significantly in building coaching skills across the organisation. The aim is simple: to help our people have better conversations, ask better questions, listen more deeply and support others to find the answers and next steps that are right for them.
Coaching isn’t just a model or a framework. It’s a practical way of leading and supporting others. It can help people think more clearly, make better decisions, develop new skills, navigate career choices, support their wellbeing and ultimately perform at their best.
Building our coaching culture
Since 2019, 13 cohorts and 221 people have completed our full Coaching Leader programme representing 7,072 hours of formal training. Each participant also receives two 90-minute sessions with an executive coach, giving our leaders the opportunity to experience coaching first-hand and bring those learnings into their own conversations and teams.
And the learning doesn’t stop when the programme finishes.
Our Coaching Refresh Circles bring coaching leaders back together to refresh their skills, share experiences and learn from one another. In 2025 alone, 504 hours of Coaching Refresh Circles took place.
We have also made coaching more accessible across Tirlán through our Introduction to Coaching programme. Introduced in 2023, over 350 people have completed the three-hour course to date.

Coaching Refresh Weeks
As part of our continued focus on coaching, a series of Coaching Circles will take place in Abbey Quarter in early October, with some sessions facilitated by Paula Mullin.
The sessions will give our Coaching Leaders an opportunity to reconnect, refresh and strengthen their coaching practice, while also considering an important question:
How can we further strengthen and improve our coaching culture at Tirlán?
The ideas and experiences shared during the sessions will help us think about what comes next and how coaching can continue to support our people and culture.

Here’s what coaching looks like at Tirlán
- 221 Coaching Leaders developed since 2019
- 13 Coaching Leader cohorts completed
- 7,072 hours of formal Coaching Leader training
- Two 90-minute executive coaching sessions for every Coaching Leader participant
- 504 hours of Coaching Refresh Circles in 2025
- 354 colleagues have completed Introduction to
- Coaching since 2023
Ultimately, coaching is about creating the space for better conversations. Conversations that help people grow, take ownership, build confidence and support one another.
During Coaching Refresh Weeks, we’ll be celebrating the progress made so far, refreshing our skills and continuing the conversation about how we make coaching an even stronger part of life at Tirlán.
