Project Jupiter takes off

Move to new fulfilment centre meets online demand

Under the project name Jupiter, the Agri Team recently completed the move of its Ecommerce order fulfilment centre from our Countrylife branch in New Ross to a dedicated Ecommerce fulfilment warehouse in Portlaoise.

Taking 14 months to complete, Project Jupiter was undertaken due to the sustained increase in online orders over the past 18 months. The Portlaoise facility is fully operational since last month and is fulfilling and dispatching online orders daily for Tirlán FarmLife (Glanbia Connect) and CountryLife.

Project Lead, Mark Dillon told Overherd at Tirlán: “The move to our new, state-of-the-art facility in Portlaoise wouldn’t have been possible without a massive cross-functional effort. We had support from several teams including Ecommerce, Agri Procurement, IT, GBS SCM and SD teams, Finance and Logistics.

“A special thank you and call-out goes to Robert Kehoe, Brian Molloy and all the New Ross Branch staff and the Agri Ecommerce team who have supported and worked tirelessly over the last number of years to allow the Agri Ecommerce channel to grow to this point where we needed to move to a dedicated centre. The move marks an exciting stage for our online journey and gives us a fantastic opportunity to grow and develop our online service to become an industry leader, fitting in perfectly with our new Co-op for a new era.
