Tour de Tirlán 2025 – let’s cross the finish line together!

Today, Friday 5th of September, marks the 12th year of the Tour de Tirlán charity cycle, a day of camaraderie, community and collaboration. As our colleagues take to the roads across four cycling routes (45km, 100km, 140km and 185km), we invite everyone to rally behind them and help us reach our ambitious fundraising target of €85,000.

This year, we’re proud to support three incredible charities:

• Aware, providing vital mental health services and support lines across Ireland.
• Fr. McGrath Centre Kilkenny, empowering communities through education, childcare training and youth leadership programmes.
• Amber Women’s Refuge, offering safe spaces and counselling for women and children fleeing domestic abuse.

Each of these charity organisations shared powerful stories at our kick-off event in May, reminding us of the real-world impact our fundraising efforts have, from sensory gardens and scholarships to life-changing counselling sessions and international youth exchanges.

The energy was electric this morning as our first group of cyclists set off at 7:30am from the Abbey Quarter carpark, ready to take on the 185km challenge.

At 9am, our second group departed from a sunny, fresh Kilkenny city, embarking on the 140km route with determination and team spirit.

We were especially thrilled to see so many familiar faces in the 100km group, many of who completed the 45km route last year and have now stepped up to a bigger challenge.

Following a meet and greet with the charity representatives, the 45km group, consisting of 50 employees, stakeholders and council members, departed shortly after 12 noon.
