The power of collaboration

A recent cheese training session served as a great example of cross-functional collaboration

A highly engaging cheese training session was recently delivered for the Ingredients Commercial Sales Team, with strong collaboration and support from the Marketing, Category and R&D teams. Hosted in Tirlán’s Innovation Centre, the session served as a great example of how cross-functional teamwork drives value-add for the business and its customers.

The training provided an in-depth look at the current market landscape, competitor analysis and the unique selling points of Tirlán’s diverse cheese portfolio – from table-top cheddars to functional curd. The session helped enhance commercial understanding while equipping the team to better communicate value with customers.

A key highlight was a live cheese tasting, expertly led by cheese grader Gerry Warren, which gave participants the opportunity to experience product quality first-hand.
Thanks to the high-tech setup in the Innovation Centre, the session was delivered in a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and online attendees to take part. Live demonstrations, supported by camera technology, helped bring the training content to life and showcased the capabilities of the Innovation Centre in delivering high-quality customer experiences.

Delivering value-add is only possible through close collaboration between Sales, Marketing, Category and R&D. This training demonstrated what’s possible when teams come together with a shared goal – growing the business through knowledge sharing, product expertise and customer-focused thinking.

These sessions also play an important role in onboarding new team members and continuously upskilling the broader commercial team.
