For our May edition, we’re talking to Niraj Modh, IT Associate on the Tirlán Graduate Programme

Originally from Mumbai, Niraj moved to Ireland in 2019 and joined Tirlán in September 2024. Before joining the Tirlán Graduate Programme, Niraj studied at Maynooth University, completing a dual major in Computer Science and Biology. During his college years, he completed placements at Microsoft and Optum.

Niraj shares: “The Tirlán Graduate Programme offers structured training and upskilling opportunities, allowing graduates to apply their learning in real-time.” He has also enjoyed various events and networking opportunities, including a recent Grad Ireland awards ceremony where Tirlán received its first silver award.

As a fully integrated member of the IT Applications team, Niraj enjoys “the challenging and fulfilling nature of his role. No two days are the same, and I really value the sense of community and support within the company, which encourages continuous learning and development.”

Niraj moved to Kilkenny for his role and says: “It didn’t take too long to settle down and I feel like this is my new home.” He has embraced life in Kilkenny, enjoying the vibrant community and numerous festivals. He particularly loves the Savour Kilkenny Food Festival, where he indulges in the local food stalls.

Outside of work, Niraj has a diverse range of interests, including music and arts, as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and watching hurling. “I recently attended my first hurling game in Kilkenny and am familiarising myself with the rules of the game. I also really enjoyed participating in the Tirlán Mountain Challenge last year – it was a great opportunity to get to know people from across the Tirlán business.”

Niraj believes in finding balance in a busy work environment and appreciates the hybrid working model at Tirlán, which provides flexibility in managing both work and personal life. “I look forward to growing and developing within Tirlán’s dynamic and supportive culture.”
